Dabur profit up on home care business

The company reports 25% rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 186 cr in June quarter

Strong growth in the home-care segment, price rises and cost-efficiency measures helped fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company Dabur India on Wednesday report a 25 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 186 crore in the June quarter. It had reported a net profit of Rs 149.40 crore in the year-ago period.

Dabur's consolidated net income from operations increased by 13 per cent to Rs 1,656.5 crore during the quarter under review, against Rs 1,472.3 crore in the year-ago period. Dabur's home care business grew by 26 per cent, while the foods business, led by packaged fruit juice brands Real and Real Activ, rose 18.7 per cent. During the period, domestic FMCG business grew 13.2 per cent and international business 17.5 per cent.

Volume grew nine per cent as compared to 12 per cent during the same period the previous year.
