This would be one of the several initiatives that the corporation is planning as a part of their non power activities.
UK-based Mott MacDonald, which had been appointed by the corporation some time back, have submitted a report suggesting a public private partnership (PPP) model for the purpose.
It would be a Rs 120 crore project and the corporation has invited bids from the interested suitors.
"The private partner would be finalised by June this year and DVC would would also hold a significant stake in the project," said Subrata Biswas, CEO of DVC.
The private player would develop the spots with resorts and other tourist products like site seeing and water sports and subsequently similar facilities would be extended to Telia dam as well.
Meanwhile, DVC is investing around Rs 100 crore to set up a research and development centre for power engineering in Rajarhat, Kolkata in collaboration with IIT Khargapur.

"We have 3 acre of land for the purpose and the construction would commence shortly but the institute would start on a rented building shortly," said AK Burman, chairman, DVC.
The corporation is also developing a master plan for integrated development of the water resources. Water And Power Consultancy Services (WAPCOS) is preparing the report.
"WEPCOS would submit the report by the end of this year and then we would decide on the development of the new water resources as well," Burman said, in the sidelines of the press meet, organised by the corporation.
The water resource development is critical particularly for the irrigation services provided by the DVC.
Similarly the corporation has already introduced the fishery development programme in its 4 reservoirs.
In collaboration with the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) DVC would invest Rs 15 crore in course of two years for the purpose.
"The NFDB would invest Rs 10 crore and the rest would be given by the corporation for the fishery development. This would mainly help in large scale employment generation in the adjacent areas of the dams," he added.
