With the demand for office space likely to pick up in the next few months, DBS Group, which specailises in building business centres, is eyeing tier II cities for expansion. The company at present operates seven business centres across the country. With an investment of about Rs 40 crore, the company is planning to open business centres, which mainly serve as makeshift offices, in Pune and Ahmedabad in the next two yaers.
"We see a good potential in tier II cities, as the demand for business centres is on the rise. We are exploring the possibilities of opening centres or franchising to have a presence in the mini metros of India", said Vanita Bhandari, director, DBS Group. The concept of business centres has been largely confined in the hotel industry, and the concept of standalone business centres is yet to popularise in the country.
DBS offers three rental plans, based upon the need of the corporates. Recently, the company has opened one facility in Kolkata.
