Upbeat over increase in demand in auto sector, Punjab-based DCM Engineering Ltd, manufacturer of engine blocks and cylinder heads is planning to set up new unit with an investment of '200 crore. The proposed facility would have an installed capacity of 60,000 metric tonnes of casting per annum and likely to be completed within 18 months. The company is expected to finalise the location by November this year. Besides, it has also plans to ramp up the capacity of the existing unit from 65,000 metric tonnes of casting per annum to 72,000 of casting annually. Speaking to Business Standard, DCM Engineering Ltd, Managing Director, J K Menon said, “ In order to meet the growing demand from the automobile sector, we have plans to set up a new unit that would cater to the tractor and and heavy commercial vehicles sector. It would be set up either in the existing premises in Ropar (Punjab) or in the southern region.
