Delhi pollution: Idea Cellular enables flexi timing, provides face masks to staff

The pollution levels have reached alarming levels in the national capital as well as in NCR

Given the current weather conditions in Delhi-NCR, Idea Cellular is providing face masks to its employees and also enabling flexi timings in order to assist them in reducing their exposure to pollutants in air.

“Flexi timing is being enabled to convenience employees and face masks are being distributed to assist them in reducing their exposure to pollutants in the air. Special buses will be plied to pick and drop employees from key locations and car pools are being planned so that vehicular movement is reduced. These facilities have been enabled for this entire week,” Idea Cellular said in a statement.

The pollution levels have reached alarming levels in the national capital as well as in NCR. Sirifort area in south Delhi and Anand Vihar in east Delh, among other places, have lately registered high levels of pollution, both on PM 2.5 and PM 10 scales.

Delhi is witnessing the worst situation due to smog in last 17 years, prompting Delhi government and the Centre to take immediate measures to curb the pollution.

The Delhi government on Sunday announced a slew of emergency measures to deal with the situation including ban on construction and demolition activities for next five days and temporary closure of Badarpur Power Plant.
