Deloitte global revenue up $26.6 bn for fiscal ended May 31

Global accounting firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu today reported a 1.8 per cent rise in consolidated revenue to $26.6 billion for the fiscal ended May 31, 2010, driven by its consultancy business and fast growth in the Asia-Pacific.

Deloitte said in a statement that its aggregate member firms' business lines performed strongly within the context of the economic environment.

The group saw a 15 per cent increase in consulting revenue, led by a 19 per cent growth in strategy and operations service earning and a 33 per cent rise in technology integration business, it added.

Consequently, Deloitte is expected to hire an average of 50,000 workers a year during the next five years, according to a report by UK daily Financial Times.
    
Revenue from the Asia-Pacific region grew by 9 per cent, making it the fastest-growing region in the accounting major's geographic portfolio.
    
"Member firms achieving growth in excess of 20 per cent included Korea and India," the Deloitte statement said.
    
Deloitte's market share grew by 2 percentage points in the Asia-Pacific region in the fiscal.

The Deloitte US member firm's recent integration of BearingPoint's North American public sector practice contributed meaningfully to its overall performance, it added.
