Delta Air Lines will start a new non-stop daily flight between Mumbai and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport starting from November 1, 2008.
The new flight will replace Delta’s current nonstop flight from Mumbai to New York’s JFK.
It will offer Mumbai’s strong business and leisure community the benefit of extensive connections across the US, the Caribbean and Latin America via Delta’s Atlanta hub, Delta’s said in a statement.
The recently acquired Boeing 777-200 Long Range (LR) aircraft will make the 17-hr 55-min westbound nonstop flight possible. “The size and scope of Delta’s operations at our Atlanta hub are best suited for the capacity of the 777-200LR in terms of cargo and passenger lift,” said Glen Hauenstein, executive vice-president – Network and Revenue Management.
