Dena Bank Q4 profit rises 23% to Rs 137 cr

Public sector lender Dena Bank today posted a jump of 23.39 per cent in its net profit to Rs 137.07 crore for the fourth quarter ended March, 2010.

The bank had a net profit of Rs 111.17 crore during the March quarter previous financial year (2008-09).

Total income of the bank rose to Rs 1,238.10 crore during the last three-months of FY'10 from Rs 1,035.83 crore of the corresponding period a year-ago, Dena Bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The bank has declared a dividend of 20 per cent for the year.
    
During the last quarter, the government-run lender earned interests worth Rs 1,063.24 crore compared to Rs 895.79 crore of the same period a year-earlier.
    
For the full financial year ended March, 2010, Dena Bank reported a net profit of Rs 511.25 crore, up about 21 per cent as compared to Rs 422.66 crore of previous fiscal.
    
Total income of the lender rose to Rs 4,598.99 crore in the financial year 2009-10 from Rs 3,877.62 crore of previous fiscal.
    
Shares of Dena Bank were quoting at Rs 84.50, up 0.54 per cent in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
