Square Yards announced that it will hire 500 people within the next year. The company will use these employees to strengthen their sales and technology team.

Sources said that the company will hire primarily for international locations but may employ Indians, educate them in the market and then send them abroad.

"We are looking to expand our team across functions such as sales, technology and channel development. Some of these positions will be based in our new international offices in Australia and Canada. We are looking at people with experience in insurance and FMCG sectors," said Tanuj Shori, Founder & CEO, Square Yards.

The company currently has a staff strength of 950 people in 21 cities.

The two-year-old company announced that it had crossed Rs 100 crore in revenue and a gross transaction value of more than $450 million.

The company plans to reach 100,000 brokers by the end of FY16 through its social networking platform. Square Yards has tie ups with 250 developers and deals only in first sale properties.

The Delhi-based company had raised pre-series A funding of $6 million in May.
