The service, V-Tel, would be available for all GSM-based subscribers and with more than 250 mobile operators. It can be used across 229 countries.
"V-Tel will bring a lot of value to our customers who travel abroad frequently. It will give our customers the facility of having a single number throughout the 229 countries and will keep them in touch with their family, friends and business associates," company's Executive Chairman A D Sudhindra told reporters here.
Every year 10 million Indians travel abroad and so we see a huge potential for V-Tel mobile service. We target to capture 10 per cent of the market share, he said.
The charge for calling to India would be 49 pence per minute, while for local calls the charge would be 10 pence per minute, he said.
