Vadodara-based Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd expects to take its total order book to over Rs 200 crore under the Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidhutikaran Yojna (RGGY). The company has already bagged EPC turnkey orders for at least five districts in Gujarat for the implementation of the scheme. |
Erstwhile Diamond Cables Limited, the company manufactures transmission and distribution (T&D) conductors, power and control cables and power and distribution transformers. |
|
It recently received two orders worth Rs 24 crore each for Ahmedabad and Sabarkantha district that involve setting up of 322 transformer centres and erection and commissioning of distribution lines aggregating 480 km. |
|
"Apart from these two districts, we have orders for Vadodara, Anand and Bhavnagar districts. We have also been shortlisted for the project in Mehsana, Patan, Banaskantha and Palanpur. We, therefore, expect our order book under RGGY to be over Rs 200 crore," said JC Marathe, executive director - EPC projects of Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd. |

Under the scheme, the Centre aims to provide power free of cost to below poverty line (BPL) consumers. While the project is funded by the Centre, State Electricity Boards (SEB) like GUVNL will be the implementing authorities. "Over 1.5 million connections are likely to be given out in Gujarat," said Marathe. |
