Ahmedabad based contract research and manufacturing services (CRAMS) company Dishman Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals has posted a net profit of Rs 10.61 crore during the second quarter of the current fiscal as against a loss of Rs 35.92 crore in the corresponding period previous fiscal.
The company's net sales grew by 6% to Rs 113.85 crore during Q2 FY 13, compared to Rs 107.31 crore in the year before period.
On a consolidated basis, Dishman posted net sales of Rs 289.26 crore, up 7.6% compared to Rs 268.84 crore in the corresponding period last financial year. Consolidated net profit for the quarter stood at Rs 26.56 crore as against a loss of Rs 63.61 crore.
For the first half of the year, the company posted a consolidated turnover of Rs 604.54 crore, up 19.46% on a year-on-year basis. Profit after tax for the first half stood at Rs 65.31 crore, the company said in a statement.
During the quarter, Carbogen Amcis posted a turnover of Rs 111.40 crore, and for the first half of the year this Swiss subsidiary of Dishman posted a turnover of Rs 244.37 crore. Dishman Netherlands posted a turnover of Rs 52.17 crore during the second quarter of the fiscal, from Rs 33.62 crore in the year before period.
