DLF Pramerica Life Insurance Company today announced opening of its new office here, with an aim to expand its footprints in Gujarat.
The private insurer, which started operations in September 2008, already has offices in Ahmedabad and Vadodara.
"We are committed towards offering innovative and flexible life insurance products to customers." DLF Pramerica Executive Vice-President Maninder Sood told reporters.
DLF Pramerica has enlisted 2,000 customers and generated a business of around Rs 6 crore in Gujarat in a year, he said.
"We have got a positive response in Gujarat which encouraged us to expand our network in the state."
He, however, said that the company has no set targets.
"The company does not want to chase any target. We will try to convince people that premium on life insurance policies is not only about tax benefit or savings," Sood said.
DLF Pramerica is expanding in a phased manner, he said, adding that after establishing a strong base in North India, the company ventured into West India in March last year starting with Ahmedabad.
The life insurance company would be focusing on rural areas, he said.
The company is a joint venture between India's leading real estate firm DLF and US-based Prudential International Insurance Holdings. At present, it has a network of 36 branch offices in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Gujarat.
