The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to issue showcause notice to Afcons Infrastructure Ltd for black listing in all DMRC’s work following the collapse of launching girder at Laxmi Nagar on October 19, 2008 that resulted in two deaths.
The technical committee constituted by DMRC that conducted an enquiry in to the incident has found serious omission and carelessness on the part of the contractor while undertaking the work. Earlier, the DMRC has already slapped a fine of Rs 10 lakhs on Afcons Infrastructure Ltd.
