DQ Entertainment (DQE), a Hyderabad-based animation, gaming and entertainment company, has forged a joint venture agreement with French firms LPPTV and Method Animation SA for co-producing a TV series on Little Prince (Le Petit Prince in Franch). The series will be telecast on French television France 3.
Little Prince 3D animation TV series will have a global estimated budget of euro 18 million (approximately Rs 118.8 crore), as disclosed by Method Animation.
Originally written in 1943, Little Prince is based on the world famous books of Antoine de Saint-Exupery and has been translated into over 180 languages, selling more than 130 million copies worldwide. The Little Prince has spawned plays and animated pictures including a 1974 Paramount Pictures production and a Nickelodeon US cartoon series aired in 1980s.
“The cartoon will be an adaptation of the work of Saint-Exupery and makes it suitable for children. In almost every episode, the Little Prince will leave in search of his home planet, and exciting adventures will follow,” Julien Borde, head (children’s programming), France2, France 3, France 5 of France Television, stated in a press release on Tuesday.
