Dr Reddy's collaborates with institutes to develop skilled workforce

Dr Reddy's Laboratories has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council (LSSSDC) and Vishnu Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (VIPER) for market research and to develop a skilled work force for the industry.

"Our collaboration with LSSSDC and VIPER will go a long way in developing the right talent pool of skills, in line with the future needs of Indian industry," Dr Reddy's chairman K Satish Reddy said.

The MoU was aimed at fostering market research collaboration between LSSSDC and industry partners, that in turn will help align educational courses to industry requirements. It will also aim to create pharmaceutical, biotechnology and clinical research occupation standards, as well as establish competency matrix for job roles in the pharma sector, according to the company.

The MoU is expected to pave the way for the entire life sciences industry in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh regions to develop a skilled work force for technical job roles from as early as 2016, according to a company statement.
