Dr Reddy's Foundation and Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) today announced a joint initiative to implement the Livelihood Advancement Business School (LABS) Programme in Hyderabad. As part of this initiative, the first MCH-LABS centre was inaugurated by mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy at the MCH commercial complex building.

LABS, a flagship of Dr Reddy's Foundation, provides livelihood advancement training for dropouts from the bottom 15 per cent of the society to prepare for entry-level jobs.

LABS would be conducting courses for skills in demand from the industry and will initially target to benefit approximately 1,000 youths.

A market survey conducted by LABS, indicated opportunities in Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES), Customer Relations and Sales (CRS), Hospitality and BPO industries. Under the LABS program, over 36,000 youth have been trained successfully in the last four years, and have set to reach a target of over 1,00,000 this year, informed the foundation in a press release.
