Pharma company Dr Reddy's Laboratories Limited (DRL) will hire about 1,000 people during the current financial year 2010-11. The company has over 13,000 employees on rolls.
“We are growing. We will add about 1,000 people this fiscal,” said Prabir Jha, senior vice-president and human resources global head.
Speaking on the sidelines of a seminar on ‘Human Capital Strategy – Getting the right people,' organised by Dun & Bradstreet and State Bank of India, Jha said there was a talent deficit across sectors. More industry-academia initiatives were needed to bridge the increasing demand-supply gap.
Functional expertise apart employees should hone their soft skills, he said adding entrepreneurial skills were the key for the growth of organisations. Employees were willing to work in an organisation where their skills were recognised, he said. Past experience was irrelevant as HR managers find the talent for a given job, said K Pandurang Rao of IVRCL Infrastructures & Projects.
