The 'Shanti Sagar XVI' dredger, being built for diversified Adani Group's Mundra Port Special Economic Zone, is expected to be delivered in the second quarter of 2012.
The 13,000 kW stationary cutter suction dredger is being manufactured by the Netherlands-based IHC Merwede.
"The contract for the design, construction and delivery of the vessel was signed in November 2010... The vessel will be delivered in the second quarter of 2012," a statement said.
According to the statement, the naming and launch ceremony for 'Shanti Sagar XVI' took place on December 6 at the IHC Merwede shipyard in Sliedrecht, the Netherlands.
IHC Merwede has also made a donation to Adani Foundation, the NGO that takes care of Adani Group's corporate social responsibility-related activities, it added.
Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd is India's largest private port and special economic zone, as per its website.
