DSK Motowheels today launched its entry-level Italian superbike – the DSK Benelli TNT 25 in the Indian market priced at Rs 1.68 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the standard variant and premium variant priced at Rs 1.75 lakh.
Shirish Kulkarni, chairman, DSK Motowheels said, "After having received a phenomenal response for our line-up in India, we are certain that this offering from DSK Benelli's stable will also be appreciated with great enthusiasm by motor biking aficionados in the country. Our aim is to sell 8000 units of the TNT 25 in the next 12 months."
The 250 cc bike has been launched in Chinese market around three months ago. It is the sixth Benelli product to be launched in India since the Italian brand was first entered in the country in March. The bike will be assembled at DSK Motowheel’s plant in Wai.
According to Kulkarni, over 250 soft bookings had already been received.
Currently, DSK Benelli has 15 showrooms across India and will be opening 10 more in the next one year. So far, the com pany has sold over 975 units of Beneli bikes. DSK has already established itself in India with Korean super bike brand Hyosung.
DSK currently makes these bikes at its Wai plant near Satara where it has invested Rs 100 crore. It has a current capacity of making 6,000 units per annum on a two-shift basis. DSK Motowheels currently sells five of the Italian bike maker’s motorcycles the TNT 300, the TNT 600i, the TNT GT, the TNT 899 and the TNT R.
