Duliajan Numaligarh pipeline to be commissioned by Nov

The Duliajan Numaligarh Pipeline Project, which is being executed by Duliajan Numaligarh Pipeline Ltd (DNP) at an estimated cost of Rs 346 crore, is expected to be commissioned by November this year. 

“The laying work of the entire pipeline of 191 km was on the verge of completion and the project will be commissioned within two months,” said Ravi Capoor, commissioner and secretary of industry and commerce department of government of Assam, who is also the chairman of DNP Ltd. Capoor was addressing the 3rd  annual general meeting (AGM) of the company here today.

DNP Ltd is engaged in implementing a cross-country high pressure natural gas pipeline for transportation of 1.00 MMSCMD of Natural gas from the fields of Oil India Limited, in Duliajan in Upper Assam to Numaligarh Refinery in Central Assam.

The Duliajan-Numaligarh pipeline will be the first major cross-country natural gas pipeline in Assam and once the availability of natural gas is ensured, it is expected to be extended to major consumption centers of natural gas in Nagaon and Guwahati.

DNP Ltd is a joint venture company promoted by Assam Gas Company Limited (AGCL), Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) and Oil India Limited (OIL) with equity participation of 51 per cent, 26 per cent and 23 per cent respectively.
