ECIL bags DSIR award for R&D

The award was presented today G P Srivastava, the chairman and managing director of ECIL, by Bachi Singh Rawat, the union minister of state for science and technology, at in the inaugural session of the 17th National conference on In-house R & D in Industry organised at FICCI Golden Jubilee Auditorium, New Delhi.

Commenting on the award, Srivastava said in a release that, "ECIL has played a pioneering role in the computer industry in the country and had many firsts to its credit in IT. Since very beginning ECIL's main focus has been utilization of information technology for improvement in productivity, commercial data processing, process control, defence and other real time applications including the products like Electronic Voting Machines."
