Edserv Softsystems Ltd, an education support services company, has announced that it has tied up with EducationAndhra.com, a Hyderabad-based information portal for educational resources, to offer its online courses for major engineering exams, CA and IT skills to the registered users of the portal.
Through the tie up, the company expects its user base to increase to around 3.5 million students. It would offer online courses for Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IITJEE), All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) along with CA and IT skills courses to the registered users of EducationAndhra.com.
Besides, the company is planning to expand its presence in Andhra Pradesh by marketing its online test products to concept schools across the state.
S Giridharan, chairman and CEO, EdServ said, “With Andhra Pradesh emerging as a major destination for integrated IIT coaching, students in classes 8th to 12th are looking for more resources including taking the eLearning platform to become better equipped. We believe this tie up will help us expand our student base in AP and also achieve a faster penetration for our online Test Prep course in schools.”
The company is in talks with a Big4 Audit firm for implementation of Inte-rnational Financial Repor-ting Standards (IFRS) accounting.
EdServ, which has tie up with Samsung, Blackberry and Nokia to provide education content through mobile phones, is also in talks with other leading mobile manufacturers to expand its reach in the mobile education segment.
The company has bought out the eLearning Online content of Prosel Ventures, a Chennai based company specialising in online content for CA, CS, CWA and IFRS including through video lectures and animated content, for Rs 35 crore in an all stock deal. As reported earlier, Dainik Bhaskar Corp Ltd which runs the leading Hindi daily newspaper Dainik Bhaskar, is investing Rs 15 crore by picking up 2.7 per cent Stake in EdServ through the issue of fully convertible equity warrants.
