Commercial vehicle manufacturer Eicher Motors today said it is bullish on maintaining good growth this fiscal despite hardening interest rates on the back of new products lined up for launch, including a 16 tonne truck, a new passenger bus and a 4-axle truck this year.The company today reported 10% increase in commercial vehicle sales in June at 2,464 units, while its year-to-date sales also grew by 14% compared to the same period last year."Our expectation is to grow above our current year-to- date rate. Fundamentally, our sales have been driven by an increase in product portfolio in passenger and heavy commercial vehicles segment," A Ramasubramanian, CEO (commercial vehicles), Eicher Motors, told PTI.He said by the end of this fiscal, the company expected to have a presence in up to 40 tonne heavy commercial vehicles segment and seriously get into marketing the products.Currently, the company is pilot testing a 4-axle truck at Vijaywada. Another 4x2, 16-tonne truck is also being tested, he added."The 16-tonne truck is powered by a four cylinder engine, which provides good fuel efficiency," he said, adding some of these products were expected for retail launch in a few months time.Besides these, Eicher Motors is also working to introduce a 40-tonne tractor trailer and a 6x4 25-tonne tipper and a 12-metre passenger bus, he said adding the company would have a complete range of product portfolio from 5 to 40 tonne by next year.
