Sugar manufacturer EID Parry India today said its consolidated net profit rose by 39 per cent to Rs 127.91 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, over the same period last year.
Total income rose to Rs 1,723.33 crore for the quarter ended March 31, from Rs 1,170.75 crore in the same quarter previous fiscal, EID Parry said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The board of the company has proposed a final dividend of Rs 4 per share to the shareholders for the year ended March 31.
During the quarter, sugar production was 1,07,926 mt. The company exported 905 lakh unit of power compared to 680 lakh unit for the corresponding period 2008-09, the filing added.
For the year ended March 31, 2010, the company has posted a consolidated net profit at Rs 567.20 crore, a decline of 51.25 per cent over the year-ago period.
Shares of EID Parry were trading at Rs 374.20 on BSE, up 2.14 per cent from previous close.
