The Energy Development Company Ltd, a Karnataka-based electricity generator has bagged a Rs 51crore sub-contract for supply order of electrical equipment for the Greater Imphal Project under the Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (APDRP) scheme.
Under the contract, the company will execute the order in next 6-8 months.
Earlier this year, the company had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Arunachal Pradesh government to develop 5 hydro power projects of a combined capacity of about 210 Mw.
The company, incorporated in 1995, is engaged in energy production. Its business plan includes exploration and production of oil and gas and merchant power and infrastructure development including.
The company also has a 9 Mw hydro power plant in Harangi in Karnataka, where an additional capacity of 6 Mw is being set up as part of its expansion plans.
Last year, the company had signed a power purchase agreement with the Hubli Electric Supply Company for its 6 Mw Harangi phase two mini-hydel project.

The company’s share price at the Bombay Stock Exchange closed at Rs 117.75 yesterday, Rs 1.8 higher than the last week’s close.
