Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has  signed a five year global contract with telecom company Ericsson to deliver application maintenance and development services for Ericsson’s internal IT operations.

“This engagement with Ericsson clearly demonstrates TCS’ unique value proposition as we drive more value for our European clients through increased service quality and greater alignment to their business needs. Nordic companies are increasingly looking to service providers like TCS to create a compelling value and deliver consulting, IT services & product engineering synergistically through a single global service standard using TCS’ Global Network Delivery Model (GNDMTM),” said Amit Bajaj, director – nordic region, TCS.

TCS will be one among the two strategic partners reponsible to deliver application maintenance services to Ericsson. It will also be a preferred supplier for application development services.

Nils Molin, managing director Sweden at the analyst firm IDC said,“This contract signifies the trend of increased acceptance of Indian headquartered IT companies delivering complex projects in the Nordic region. TCS has been spearheading this trend by investing heavily in localizing its Nordic operations, expanding its services portfolio and aggressively adding new clients. We expect Nordic companies to continue to add deliveries from off- and nearshore centers to their sourcing strategies for IT Services.”
