"The Essar Group of India will set up a two million tonne steel plant at an investment of about $ 1.2 billion," Pundit Maniedeo Persad, high commissioner of Republic of Trindad and Tobago in India, said today.
The construction work was expected to start in December, Persad added.
Essar is the second Indian company after the Ispat Group to set up a steel plant in Trinidad and Tobago.
