Etihad Airways has elevated Neerja Bhatia, its India-general manager, to the role of vice president in charge of India and Indian sub continent.
Bhatia joined the airline as a sales manager in 2004 shortly after Etihad launched its flights to Mumbai and rose to become its India general manager in 2007. In a media statement Etihad said she has played a key role in expansion of the airline in India in last eleven years
Etihad currently operates direct flights to eleven cities in India and together with its strategic partner operates 200 weekly return flights to 14 cities in India.
