Helicopter manufacturer Eurocopter was planning to set up an Indian subsidiary to manage its operations in the country, including setting up joint ventures and outsourcing components, according to Chief Executive Officer Marie Agnes Veve.

A decision on this would be taken in two months, she told reporters here on Tuesday.

The company was also studying the prospects of starting a helicopter manufacturing unit in India.

It will, meanwhile, sign multiple agreements with Indian companies for outsourcing components used in helicopters, she said.

Other projects included a helicopter maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in Delhi or Mumbai in a 50-50 joint venture with India’s largest civil operator, Pawan Hans Helicopters.

“We will be able to provide better service and fleet safety solutions for the Indian market with our new MRO,’’ she said.
