Around a dozen European logistics players are together looking to invest in the range of $5-10 billion in India, an international realty consultant today said.
"Big European players numbering 10-12 are looking to invest in India in the logistics sector," BNP Paribas Real Estate Executive Director and COO Raja Kaushal told PTI on the sidelines of a conference here.
These European firms are interested to set up logistics parks and invest in the entire chain of logistics, including cold chain and warehousing. Their combined investment in the sector could be in the range of $5-10 billion, he said.
"Partnerships with the government could give these companies their desired level of comfort to invest in India," Kaushal said.
At least a couple of overseas players had entered the Indian logistics sector earlier, but withdrew partly because of lack of co-operation from the government and recessionary pressures.
