Former Tata Motors managing director and chief executive Carl-Peter Forster, who was also the head of Jaguar Land Rover, has been appointed the head of Chinese-owned London Taxi Company.
Besides being director on the board of Volvo Cars Corporation and Geely Automobile Holdings for the past two years, Forster has also been a senior adviser to Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, the company which owns London Taxi Company.
Forster is credited with playing an important part in turning around Jaguar Land Rover operations under Tata Motors. JLR suffered losses for a prolonged period under Ford.
Forster quit Tata Motors abruptly in September 2011.
The London Taxi Company was rescued by the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group in February 2013, restarting production of black cabs later that year.
