Express Clinics to inject new life in healthcare

City-based Express Clinics Pvt. Ltd plans to launch a chain of healthcare centres in Pune and Maharashtra to offer OPD services including specialist and super specialist consultants, diagnostics, preventive health check ups and dental clinic services.

Initially the company is setting up10 clinics in Pune city and 40 clinics all over Maharashtra by the end of 2012. It is investing around Rs 200 crore of its own funds for this healthcare centres.

Speaking about the venture to Business Standard, Brij Sharma, chairman, Express Clinics said, "Our services have been specifically designed for optimal health and well being and will enable us to provide a more comprehensive and thorough health care service than any other organisation. Today, the market size of this sector is Rs 600 crore. We are in the process of setting up 500 across India to provide convenient, comprehensive and easy access for all our customers."

The company is also in talks with corporates, hotels and insurance companies as well. It has already tied up with 25 companies for the pre-employment check up service. The clinics will be in two formats-premium which will be 2000 sq feet and value which will be in a 1000 sq feet area.

Sharma added, "The main idea behind Express clinic is to give people easy and quick access to proper health solutions. Going to a big hospital or even locating a hospital in case of an emergency can be difficult. Express Clinic hence will bride the gap and for people it will give them good option,"

Express Clinics is offering OPD services like MBBS doctor consultation, cashless treatment,  ultra sound sonography, mammography, 2D echo, stress test, audiometry, bone mineral density, eye check up, dental check up and pathology services.

By the end of 2012, it is setting up clinics in the cities like Mumbai Nagpur, Solapur, Kolhapur, Aurangabad and Nashik. Mumbai clinics will be larger in size.

"For example, even for small cut or a burn people don't need to visit a big hospital as Express Clinic will bridge the gap between the absent family doctor and the big hospital," Sharma said.
