After opening at a discount of nearly 8-10 points at 3316.60 when compared to spot Nifty at 3324.85, the Nifty April futures turned bullish and closed at a premium of seven points to close at 3361. The spot Nifty closed at 3354.20, and Nifty March futures closed at 3369 - a premium of 16.25 points.
The put-call ratio (PCR) of Nifty moved up to 1.99 as against 1.94 on Tuesday as call options increased only 92,400 shares (0.85%) whereas put options added nearly 6.7 lakh (3.2%).
The PCR of Satyam has increased from 0.75 to 0.91 as OI in call options declined by 87,000 shares while put options added 90,000 shares.
The roll-overs were encouraging at 70-80% in Hindalco, Corporation Bank, Jindal Stainless, Gujarat Ambuja & Indian Hotels. Over 65-70% roll-overs were seen in Matrix Labs, Cipla, Glaxo, Orchid Chemicals, Grasim, MTNL, VSNL, Divis Lab & PNB. Nifty roll-overs was around 55-60%.
The annualised CoC of Nifty April futures was a positive 3.21% as against positive 1.24% on Tuesday.
Long OI was built up in Canara Bank (23%), NDTV (30%), VSNL (10%), MphasisBFL (9%), which indicates further upside moves in these stocks.
