Federal Bank Q2 net profit up 12.5%

Total income of the bank grew by 12.14% at Rs 1,665.04 crore during the same period

Federal Bank posted a 12.52% growth in net profit for the second quarter ended September 30 at Rs 215.10 crore compared with the same quarter the previous fiscal. The total income of the bank grew by 12.14% at Rs 1,665.04 crore during the same period.

The bank improved its half yearly profit, with net profit of Rs 405.45 crore during first half of current fiscal as against Rs 337.32 crore during the same period previous fiscal.

During this period, the total income grew to Rs 3,326.08 crore compared with Rs 2,846.40 crore as on September 30, 2011.

Advances increased to Rs 36,299.18 crore during the quarter compared with Rs 33,606.69 crore as on September 30, 2011. The total deposits increased to Rs 49,518.07  crore from Rs 47,263.46 crore as on September 30, 2011.

During the quarter, Current Account Savings Account (CASA) ratio improved by 276 bps to reach 28.71%.

The gross Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) of the bank rose 3.83% as on September 30 compared with 3.61% a year ago. The net NPAs rose to 0.68% compared with 0.58% a year ago.
