Festo to set up EDP centre

The ¤1.2 billion pneumatic components and systems firm, Festo will set up an electronic data processing centre and a spatial design centre in Bangalore.
 
R Joshi, managing director, while unveiling the Expotainer, a product display vehicle Festo Controls said that the EDP centre will be a small operation processing the transactions of Festo's 176 centres across the world.
 
He added that the company will increase its range from 3000 to 6000 in the coming year. Ths Rs 120 crore Indian operation is averaging a 35 per cent growth ahead of the 15 to 20 per clocked by the Rs 400 pnematic market in the country.
 
As a result, the company has increased its market share to 38 per cent now, he said. About 30 per cent of Festo's revenues come from exports to Festo's other centres and this is expected to rise.
