Tata Motors Limited, which is currently responsible for the sales and service of Fiat cars in India, is aiming at selling 20,000 units of the latter’s cars in the domestic market in the 2012 calendar, as against 18,000 last year, according to Piyush Lall, assistant general manager (Fiat brands), Tata Motors.

Announcing the launch of the Italian car major’s 2012 editions of the Fiat Linea and Punto in the Hyderabad market on Tuesday, Lall said, “With the rising demand for diesel cars and Fiat focusing more on diesel variants, we are hopeful of crossing the target.”

Fiat’s new Linea and Punto diesel versions boost features like split foldable seats, brighter ivory and grey interior colours, power windows, rain-sensing wipers and 190-mm (Linea) and 195-mm (Punto) ground clearance.
