With the entry fee priced at Rs 250 for adults and Rs 200 for children for a one-hour memorable 'freezing' experience, Snow World, the first ever snow theme park in the country, is all set to enthrall the visitors and the denizens of Hyderabad from Monday.

Located at the heart of the city, beside the historical city's famous landmarks of Hussain Sagar and Indira park, the 17,000 sqft family entertainment centre is constructed on a sprawling two-acre area.

The 12-crore project will be inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Republic Day.

Besides housing a gamut of fun-packed features including fun rides, games, snow-view restaurant, indoor go-carting(to be shortly added) and other attractions, the theme park is designed to accommodate 300 persons at a time with a maximum capacity of 2,400 people a day.

The state government has leased out the land to this latest tourist attraction for Rs 36 lakh annual lease amount in the first year. The lease amount would be raised by 5 per cent every year for the 33-year lease period.

Around 10 acre vacant land, including the Snow World area, falling beside Indira park along the lower Tank-bund road, was earmarked for the tourist projects a la Snow World by the state government.

Designed by renowned architect Nisish Roy, the snow dome area, which is called the 'cryozone', features kids snow play area, snow wars, snow tube slide, ice bumping cars, merry-go-round, ice skating and ice sculptures.

The snow playground houses a 300-degree mountain horizon with snow and blue sky. Artificial alpine huts, trees and animals placed around the area completes the winter snow experience.

Visitors would be passed through 2-3 zones with decreasing temperatures before being introduced to the cryozone which has a minus 5 degrees temperature for proper acclimatisation, besides being served with hot soup and special suits, the promoters said.
