Firstsource Solutions today said it has appointed Sanjiv Goenka as the chairman of the company following the resignation of Shailesh Mehta from the post. Mehta will continue as an independent director on the board.
In October, 2012 Goenka-led CESC through its wholly-owned subsidiary SpenLiq acquired 49.5% stake in Firstsource, the fifth largest business process outsourcing firm in the country. The deal value was estimated close to Rs 650 crore.
A statement from Firstsource said Goenka has been appointed as an additional director on the board along with Pradip Roy, a veteran banker who is currently a senior advisor with Pipavav Defense and Offshore Engineering Company.
Other than these two appointments Firstsource did not announce any other board level changes.
Goenka and Roy were not immediately available for comments.
Late October, in an interview with Business Standard Goenka had indicated that CESC will have "proportionate representation" on the Firstsource's board once shareholding transfers are effective.
