Flipkart today launched the customer-facing end of PayZippy, an online payment solution for merchants and buyers.

Earlier this year, the e-commerce major had launched its payment gateway PayZippy, under a separate firm Flipkart Payment Gateway Services (FPGS) Pvt Ltd, and started with payment solutions to merchants only.

This service lets customers enjoy a faster, smoother and safer online payment experience, Flipkart said in a release. Users can store their card information with PayZippy and use it while making payments online on partner merchant websites.

Once stored, users would not have to repeatedly input cart information across websites. PayZippy assures security and privacy of card details.

“We are constantly focusing on ways to make the online experience a better one for the customer. With PayZippy we have actually reduced the time taken for making online payments by 50%. We are expecting at least 150,000 customers to sign up for this service within the first month and our target is to get 1 million customers by next June,” Mekin Maheswari, Head, Payments and Digital Media, Flipkart.com said.

PayZippy has tied up with several other websites such as MakeMyTrip, Travelyaari, Zansaar, Trendin, Justeat, Lenskart, Yepme, and Bluestone.
