Hungama TV on a kids talent hunt on a never-seen-before scale.

Reality talent hunt "" that seems to be the flavour of the season. Boogie Woogie (on Sony) is back. And then there is John aur Kaun. John, as in model actor John Abraham, who will be the key draw in the talent hunt from kids channel Hungama, promoted by UTV.

Kids "" aged 7-14 "" can showcase their acting and dancing skills and two lucky ones (a boy and a girl) will get cash prizes and a chance to act with Abraham, who is also the brand ambassador for the channel.

"The winning duo will act in a UTV-produced Hindi movie with Abraham, get a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh each and a 3-year contract with UTV to manage their acting careers," informs Siddharth Roy Kapur, senior vice president (Marketing and Communications), UTV.

The auditions will take place in five cities ""Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. After the initial auditions, 4 boys and 4 girls from each city will be flown to Mumbai for the final rounds to short-list four candidates, who will be put up for a nationwide SMS/televoting process to select the winners.

This, by far, will be the costliest programme platform for any kids channel -- a big budget gamble to get prime time eyeballs? Kapur treads carefully: "Maybe with success of John Aur Kaun, you will see some more reality based shows, which will be aired on prime time bands to bag higher channel ratings."
