Ford India appoints Vinay Piparsania as marketing, sales head

Piparsania will spearhead marketing, sales and customer service operations as Ford prepares to launch eight new models in India by mid-decade

Ford India today announced appointment of Vinay Piparsania as the company's new Executive Director, Marketing, Sales and Service.

He will assume his position on September 1, 2012 and will report to Ford India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham, the company said in a statement.

"In his new role, Piparsania will spearhead marketing, sales and customer service operations as Ford prepares to launch eight new models in India by mid-decade," it added.

Prior to this appointment, he was Vice-President, Marketing and Sales, Ford Group Philippines, where he was responsible for overseeing the launch readiness and dealer development activities for the introduction of new Ford Ranger, Ford Focus and the Ford Mustang, the company said.

Earlier, Piparsania was Vice-President, Marketing, Sales and Service and External Affairs of Ford India.

He had joined the company in 1996.

Commenting on the appointment, Boneham said, "We are very pleased to welcome Vinay back to Ford India. His extensive marketing experience along with the rich regional perspective that he has gained from his various positions across markets in the Asia Pacific and Africa region will surely help us go further with our brand and business in India".

Piparsania's other previous assignments included Director, Planning, Distribution and Fleet, Ford Asia Pacific and Africa, based in Bangkok.
