Built on a completely new platform, the Endeavour sports a 3.2 litre Duratorq five cylinder TDCi diesel engine of 3198 cc, which generates peak power of 200ps and 470nm of torque. The company claims the SUV will deliver fuel efficiency of 10.91 km to the litre.
The Endeavour is pitted against segment leader Toyota Fortuner; however the Ford model is priced nearly Rs 1 lakh less than its Japanese rival.

In a step-down variant, Ford India is offering a 2.2 litre, 2198 cc engine, which generates peak power of 160ps and 385nm of torque; this engine is projected to deliver a fuel economy of 14.12 kmpl.
Ford is also offering an automatic transmission option on the Endeavour.
The new SUV has a body-on-frame construction, four wheel drive and a terrain management system. It also has features like semi-automatic parallel park assist and electronic stability control. It comes with seven airbags including driver knee airbag.
However, both variants of the new SUV will not be available for sale in Delhi, where the Supreme Court has banned, until end of March 2016, sales of cars and SUVs that have more than 2,000 cc engine capacity.
