Ford launches Quick Lane service model in India

The first outlets is opened in Bangalore, which provides quick service to customers

Ford India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company of US, on Monday announced the launch of first ever “Quick Lane” service outlet in India.

The first outlet was opened at Metro Ford in Yeshwantpur, Bangalore and the company plans to open similar outlets in all metros and other major cities in phased manner. With the launch, Ford India will have 11 sales and service centres in Bangalore.

The Quick Lane service outlet provides Ford’s authenticated service to its customers quickly including oil and filter changes, brake systems, tyres, suspension systems, exhaust systems, tune-ups and alignments within two hours.

“We have now introduced the option of speedy, no-appointment necessary service during hours that fit the busy schedules of our customers. At Quick Lane centres, customers will have the confidence of knowing their vehicles are being serviced by Ford-trained technicians using quality parts,” John Cooper, executive director, customer service operations, Ford Asia Pacific and Africa.

The Quick Lane service concept was first introduced in the United States in 1997 and since then the company has opened 650 outlets. This service division of Ford contributes $625 million in revenues to the company, which constitutes about 15-20 per cent of the company’s overall revenues.

In India, the company plans to expand the service in phased manner in important cities as part of its expansion over the next three to four years, Cooper added.

Ford India today has more than 241 sales and service outlets across 127 cities and plans to grow it to over 500 by mid-decade.
