Car-maker Ford India today reported an over two-fold jump in sales to 8,380 units in September on the back of a good response to its latest small car, Figo.
The company had sold 3,405 units in the same month last year, Ford India said in a statement.
"The surge was driven by sustained demand for the record -selling Figo. Since its launch in March, Figo continues to be a stellar performer and the demand is expected to surge further in the upcoming festive season," it added.
Besides Figo, the company sells models such as the Ikon, Fiesta and Endeavour in the country.
"We are delighted and excited about the prospect of celebrating the 50,000th Figo milestone in the next few weeks," Ford India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham said.
