Fortis Healthcare today posted consolidated net profit of Rs 14.03 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, and said that it will soon open four new hospitals.
The company had posted a net loss of Rs 14.31 crore for the same period previous fiscal, Fortis Healthcare (India) said in a statement.
Total income of the company improved to Rs 483.32 crore for the first quarter as against Rs 337.92 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
"In this quarter of the new fiscal, Fortis continued the growth momentum built up over the past year," Fortis Healthcare (India) MD Shivinder M Singh said.
"Fortis remains focused on delivering on its promise and we are preparing for the next phase of growth: to bring quality healthcare, at affordable prices, to those who currently lack access to reliable healthcare," Singh added.
Operating revenue from hospital business stood at Rs 421 crore, a growth of 25% over the corresponding period last fiscal, the company said.
The growth has been led by Fortis hospitals at Mohali, Mulund, Bengalore and Jaipur, the statement added.
