Fortis Healthcare has entered in a tie up with Mumbai-based SL Raheja Hospital. The former will take charge of the operations and management of the facility.
"SL Raheja is Fortis Healthcare's third hospital in western India and extends company's presence in the West. Fortis already has a presence in Mumbai with a hospital in Vashi, Navi, Mumbai.
The hospital is owned by a charitable trust and is known for oncology and diabetology services. The hospital also offers high end services across a range of specialities including urology, general surgery orthopaedics and neurology.
"Fortis believes that SL Raheja offer potential for growth due to its advantageous location," said the company in a statement.
Fortis will further upgrade the medical programme at the hospital and introduce new specialities.
The healthcare chain is also in talks with Wockhardt Hospitals to acquire its hospitals. Wockhardt has its hospitals present in cities such as Mumbai and Bangalore.
