Fortis Healthcare is planning to expand in a big way in Rajasthan. The company is planning to set up a Medi-city in Jaipur.

"We want to set up Medi-city in Jaipur and have initiated talks with the state government in this regard," Shivinder Mohan Singh, managing director, Fortis Healthcare, said.

"We are looking at over 25 acres for the project that will have a medical college besides a 500-600 bed hospital," he added.

Singh, who was addressing a Press conference here, said the healthcare company also plans to set up two or three, 100-bed hospitals in the state.

"We are also keen on entering into a public private partnership (PPP) model on healthcare with the state government," he added.

Though he refused to give details on investments in the state, Singh said a 100-bed hospital would cost between Rs 100 crore and Rs 200 crore while a Medi-city can cost anywhere between Rs 500 crore and Rs 600 crore.
