The Escorts Heart Institute (EHIRC) on Saturday announced an out-of-court settlement with Dr. Naresh Trehan who was unceremoniously removed as executive director last week, and reinstated the noted cardiologist to his earlier position to head the premium institution.Ending the crisis that saw free exchange of charges and counter-charges between Shivender Mohan Singh, the managing director of Fortis Healthcare, which has the majority stake in Escorts, and Trehan, EHIRC said in a statement that the allegations were borne out misunderstanding and are withdrawn.Singh, who took charge of EHIRC, relinquished the new position as part of the settlement and would continue as the managing director of EHIRC, the statement added.
