Four Seasons Wines plans Rs 50 crore expansion

Four Seasons Wines Ltd (FSWL), a subsidiary of United Spirits and a part of UB Group, is planning to invest around Rs. 50 crore to expand the capacity of its winery in Baramati (in Maharashtra) in the next three years.

The company, which launched its grape wine last year, has set the target of producing 10 lakh bottles (750 ml each bottle) of grape wine in the current grape season.

FSWL set up a winery in Baramati last year (in 2009), with an installed capacity of 15 lakh bottles (11.25 lakh litters). The company has invested Rs. 50 crore so far to set up the winery.

“We are in the process of expanding the capacity of our winery in Baramati, which will be increased upto 1 million cases (90 lakh litters) from the present installed capacity of 11.25 lakh litters, in the next three-four years and an investment for the purpose is estimated at around Rs. 50-70 crore,” Abhay Kewadkar, Director, Four Seasons Wines Ltd, told Business Standard.

“The company has signed long-term contract with local farmers for 500 acres with an aim to meet its annual production requirement. The company has launched eight brands so far,” he said.
